Turn store-bought biscuit dough into glazed donuts

Skip the trip to the donut shop and whip up a batch of these yummy baked biscuit donuts. No special pan require — just four basic ingredients and a few minutes in the oven. You may never go back after taking a bite of these warm donuts.

Blueberry Glazed Biscuit Donuts

Makes: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-ounce) container biscuit dough
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Supplies: bottle cap

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  2. Open biscuits and place on cookie sheet. Use a bottle cap that is about an inch in width as a cookie cutter for donut holes. Tip: save the “donut holes,” and bake them along with your donuts.
  3. Place the cookie sheet in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
  4. While biscuits are baking, prepare the glaze. Place the powdered sugar, blueberries, and lemon zest in a blender or food processor. Add more blueberries or powdered sugar until desired consistency. You’ll want it thick, yet pourable. Then spread on donuts.
